Marinco’s new adapter easily converts existing 50A power cords from a straight to a right-angle connection. It is especially designed to minimize cordset protrusion from the inlet to increase clearance in tight spaces and lessen the weight on the inlet – the ideal choice for a variety of boats.

Guest, a leading manufacturer of advanced marine battery management systems, presents new 30 Amp and 50/60 Amp galvanic isolators at IBEX, Miami, Fla., October 6-8, 2008. Guest’s galvanic isolators are designed to protect boats from costly and dangerous galvanic corrosion and metal loss by preventing the electroplating action on boats with AC power feeds. They allow necessary AC ground current for shorepower safety, but block the small DC currents that can flow in seawater between boats in a marina.

Marinco’s new adapter enables boaters to connect their 15A, 125V equipment to 30A locking receptacle on the dock, with GFCI protection. The GFCI shorepower adapter will immediately interrupt power when current from defective electrical equipment is escaping to the ground – therefore reducing the duration of the shock to a period considered safe for healthy people. It is designed to provide safer hook-up to 30A dockside power by protecting against harmful electrocution and potential fire from shorted wiring, especially in wet conditions.
